Consolidation of the rocks of the Acropolis slopes

Before the interventions of the ESMA, it was evident that the rocks around the Acropolis had problems of erosion and stability. Between 1979 and 1993 the rocks of the slopes were consolidated at 22 different places around the hill. In this work, unstable rocks were consolidated by being anchored, under pressure, to the mass of the rock, with clamps and heads of stainless steel. The joints were sealed and gaps in the rocks were filled in with injections of a special cement composition. |
