[vc_row kswr_mresponsive=”kswr_rm_mleft” kswr_row_top_decor_enabled=”false” kswr_row_bottom_decor_enabled=”false”][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text css=””]In March 2024, the YSMA Documentation Office submitted a story and a grant proposal to the European Heritage Days Stories, an open call organized by the European Heritage Days, as a joint action of the European Council and the European Commission.\u00a0 The call aims to promote stories with a cultural content and a European appeal.<\/p>\n

The story submitted by YSMA was entitled “Pontadoros: Copying the Random, or how a traditional copying device defined the restoration of classical monuments”.\u00a0 The story was about the use of the pontadoros in the modern restorations of classical monuments. It deals with the first use of the pontadoros in the restoration of the Stoa of Brauron, following an initiative of Charalambos Bouras and Stelios Triantis, and its subsequent adoption and establishment as the main tool for the production of marble fillings in the restoration of the Acropolis monuments. The story was compiled on behalf of the Documentation Office by the archaeologist, Evi Petropoulou.<\/p>\n
