«Periods of Rise and Fall in ancient Athens: Their Reflections on the Acropolis Monuments»

The educational programme “Periods of Rise and Fall in ancient Athens: Their Reflections on the Acropolis Monuments” was implemented on the Acropolis in collaboration with the 1st Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities during the celebrations of the “European Heritage Days 2012” (28-30.9.2012). The historical, social and economic context of the archaic and classical Athens together with the archaeological remains of the Sacred Rock gave the students the chance to understand that societies are likely to follow curves of recession and growth rather than a linear progression.
