The Department of Information and Education successfully designed and implemented the educational program “The Acropolis through the eyes of European travelers (17th-20th century)” as part of the European Heritage Days, under the theme “Tracing Routes, Networks, and Ties in Cultural Heritage”. The program took place at the Acropolis on Friday, September 27th, 2024, for 40 students from the 1st Model Gymnasium of Athens (9th grade). This year’s celebration focused on exploring the cultural ties and networks developed over the centuries and how cultural exchanges influenced European artistic and intellectual production. During the program, the students discovered how key figures in science, intellectual life, and the arts viewed, understood, described, and depicted the monuments of the Acropolis, and the impact their work had in the years that followed.
