YSMA’s participation in a programme run by the Ministry of Culture and Sports for the access of visually impaired people to the Athens Acropolis

On Friday 24.11.2022 the Minister of Culture and Sports Lina Mendoni inaugurated a pilot programme which would allow visually impaired people to access the Athens Acropolis by using tactile sensory tools and aids. The programme was implemented by the ministry of Culture and Sports and the Athens Ephorate of Antiquities in collaboration with the Lighthouse of the Blind of Greece and under the financial support of the Onassis Foundation.

YSMA participated in the programme of the tactile route by creating a Newsletter in Braille, and in large print for six languages, Greek, English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. This Newsletter is an update of the newsletter published in Greek and English by YSMA in 2011 on the restoration works on the Acropolis. The new Newsletter for the restoration works on the Acropolis is handed out at the entrance of the Archaeological site to visually impaired Greek and foreign visitors.
